The Garden

This hidden gem can be found on the north side of the Temple complex, a short distance from Fleet Street. The L-shaped garden runs between Temple Church and the Master's House which was the residence of the Master of the Temple at the Temple Church. The main garden is an elevated plateau, built above 17th century catacombs to create more burial space when the Temple Church crypts were full. This quiet garden, which has been planted with a mix of herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees, is a real treasure in a very historic part of the City of London.
