Dulwich Upper Wood is a small section of the Great North Wood, ancient woodland which once stretched from New Cross to Croydon. Paths through the high trees lead past fungi and fern gardens, insect hotels, and an interpretation centre, and offer an enjoyable amble through a secret woodland just below Crystal Palace. The site is managed by The Conservation Volunteers as a local nature reserve
