Sellincourt Primary School Edible Garden
Sellincourt Edible Gardens was set up in 2016 with funding from Awards for All and The Hedley Foundation, and support from Trees for Cities.
Pupils have been learning how to cultivate and harvest different food produce over the year. This has been related to science topics and healthy eating in the curriculum. The gardens feature raised beds growing a variety of apple trees, fruits and vegetables.
We also have a sensory garden at the front of the Early Years building, a shaded garden area and wildflower section. Among the beds are garden sculptures, which we are adding to each year.
The gardens are an inspiring example of a school community working together to provide much-needed opportunities to garden in an inner-city environment.
