Garden Activities - North Lambeth + Southwark

Iliffe Yard (SK4)

Open Garden Squares Weekend coincides with our Summer Open Studios weekend. This is the only time when the Yard is open to the public. Visitors will be able to view the gardening and also have a look around some of the workshops. There will be stalls run by community groups (history, bees, gardening) as well as stalls selling local crafts, street food and a bar. Local musicians will be playing in the Yard. There's also a cafe at the entrance to Iliffe Yard on Crampton St.

Jamyang Buddhist Centre (LB2)

Our Café is a friendly and welcoming space where you can enjoy delicious cakes (including gluten-free options) or something more filling like a vegetarian or vegan meals.

Kath Gillmore Community Garden (SK5)

Pollinator plants, seeds and information leaflets for sale. Beekeeping exhibition and Permaculture information stall, upcycled crafts, henna hand painting. Refreshments available.

Merrick Square (SK6)

Music and refreshments, organised by Trinity Newington Residents’ Association, by kind permission of the Corporation of Trinity House.

Oasis Farm (LB4)

Teas, coffees and fresh farm produce. There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the animals that live on the farm including goats, guinea pigs, chickens and geese.

Jess French: attracting wildlife into your garden - Saturday 8 June, Midday

Best known for her CBeebies TV series, Minibeast Adventures, Jess – a presenter, vet, author and adventurer – joins us to talk about her latest book, How to Help a Hedgehog and Protect a Polar Bear, and to explain how you can attract wildlife into your garden. Perfect for little ones.

Should the weather be inclement on the day, the event will still go ahead on schedule. It will take place in a large, covered barn located in the garden. 

Trinity Church Square (SK8)

Walworth Allotment Association (SK9)

Tea and home-made cakes.

Walworth Garden (SK10)

An ever-growing array of interesting and unusual plants to see (and buy), certain to surprise both gardeners and non-gardeners alike; the garden sells indoor and outdoor plants, terracotta pots, peat-free compost, honey, chutney and jams made with their own garden produce.
