Since 1998, the London Parks & Gardens Trust has been co-ordinating an annual event in June opening London's hidden green spaces to the public.
While we have had to postpone the event for this June, we are certain that visiting beautiful green spaces will be one of the things that helps London to recover when things return to normal and we hope to stage an alternative event later in the year.
Open Garden Squares highlights some of the best gardens and green spaces that make up the rich tapestry of London’s green infrastructure, but there are many others – just as valuable to their communities – which are in decline or under threat of development. Funds raised during OGSW mean that the London Parks and Gardens Trust can continue its work to protect them.
If you become a member of the London Parks & Gardens Trust, your Open Gardens Squares Weekend ticket is included in your membership package. You can find out more about Trust membership or join on line.
Open Garden Squares Weekend is organised by the London Parks & Gardens Trust.
The London Parks and Gardens Trust (LPGT) is a registered charity that relies on volunteers and donations. It costs over £50,000 for us to deliver Open Garden Squares Weekend each year and the event is the main fundraiser for our charity. The rest of the year, we champion historic green spaces in the planning process, seeking to stop inappropriate development and encourage more Londoners to value their parks and gardens. We welcome donations to help our cause.
The event would also not be possible without the generous support of our many volunteers and the fabulous gardens that take part and open their gates for us each year.
