Ravenscourt Park Glasshouses and walled garden have been brought back to life by Hammersmith Community Gardens Association after falling into disrepair. The association took over the management of the site in 2004 and the display glasshouse now has lots of scented fruit and flower varieties. The Shelf Life project is very popular with children and adults, as it showcases how plants can be grown in food containers, for example tomatoes in a ketchup bottle and potatoes in a crisp packet. Volunteers use another greenhouse to raise seedlings and cuttings for the site and other local community gardens. The beautiful walled garden includes a medicinal herb border and vegetable plots.
